However, we recommend that you have your plumbing inspected on occasion to prevent any major issues in the future. A plumbing inspection can save you a lot of time as well as stress and money, because it will help you find problems before they become major headaches.
Any plumbing inspection should include the following items:

- Hoses and lines of your washing machine
- Garbage disposal
- Dishwasher
- Showers and bathtubs
- Toilets
- Faucets
- Drains
- Pipes
- All supply lines
While we always hope that everything is okay during the inspection, there are times when issues are found. A professional plumber will determine if there are any issues with any of the above and then let you know the results. It may be as simple as fixing a small leak or eventually replacing your aging hot water heater. They may even suggest replacing your faucets and showerheads, so that you can save money on your water bill.
If a major problem is found during this type of inspection, you will at least have the right person there to make sure that it gets fixed properly. We always recommend doing major repairs as soon as you find out that they are needed, because it is much better than coming home to a flooded basement or a burst pipe.
If a professional plumber does not find anything wrong during an inspection now, it doesn’t mean that you will not need another inspection for a long time. We recommend having your plumbing inspected every year or so, to prevent major problems. You may not think that it is necessary, but you will appreciate it when a professional finds a pipe before it breaks in two or determines that the pipes to your toilet are so bad that your home is about to flood.
